Lindblad Expeditions – National Geographic

logo-lex-ngLars-Eric Lindblad really wanted to be an explorer, and he channeled his passion to the travel business. He formed his own travel organization in 1958, Lindblad Travel. He took anyone anywhere, and his itineraries ventured where no tourist had gone before.

Sven-Olof Lindblad, Lars’ son, traveled extensively with his father from an early age, developing his inherent passion to explore the pristine corners of the globe. In 1979, Sven Lindblad founded Special Expeditions as a division of Lindblad Travel, enabling the company to further its mission of offering innovative and educational travel expeditions that were primarily marine focused. Offerings expanded to Costa Rica, Baja California, and Alaska providing travelers with opportunities to explore, on small ship cruises, the islands, coves, and open spaces of the sea that reminded Lindblad of the remote and vast expanse of the Serengeti plains. The company’s name was later changed to Lindblad Expeditions.

In 2004, Lindblad Expeditions embarked on one of the travel industry’s most important partnerships when it joined forces with National Geographic to further inspire the world through expedition travel. Today with offices in New York City and Seattle, Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic operates its own fleet of five expedition ships and several seasonal charters offering life-changing adventures on all seven continents.

Sunstone Tours & Cruises

Sunstone Tours & CruisesSunstone Tours & Cruises – Small Ship Adventure Cruises, has been delivering rich, life changing cruise adventures since 1994. We have a long standing reputation of offering small ship adventure cruises specializing in up close and personal experiences on small ships throughout the world.

We have sailed the ships, we know the itineraries and destinations. We have the knowledge and expertise to compare and contrast the different options. A small ship adventure is not an inexpensive vacation, you want to be sure you do it right the first time.

Starting out as a general travel agency in 1994. A few years later we were offered the opportunity to experience a small ship in Alaska, 60 passengers with naturalists, kayaking, zodiacs, up close and personal with the destination. We fell in love and never looked back. The small ship experience became our passion and remains so to this day.
